BRUSSEL TROUWT

Flemings and Brussels get on well with each other. A lifelong romance, love at first sight, or a stormy affair ... Brussels makes many a heart beat faster. High time to seal your love. What are you waiting for? Do you take Brussels to be your lawfully wedded partner?

Celebrate your love for Brussels on July 11th during a huge, unforgettable wedding party at the Grand Place. All completely free. Say “I do” to the city or just take part of the festivities.

from 13:00

Tonight it's time to party. But until then, there's still so much to do.

  • Hurry on to the magnificent wedding room of the Town Hall for that special moment that just keeps on going. Starting at 15:00, a wedding celebrant will perform the vows between you and the city of Brussels. We swear!
  • No wedding is complete without over-the-top photos. Get your picture taken in a pimped-out, chromed-out limousine.
  • Drop in to the mobile tattoo shop and get an everlasting memento of this memorable day. At least for a while.
  • Try your luck in a bride's bouquet tossing contest. Who knows, you might even find your true love.
  • Cook up some traditional ‘Stoemp’ for the wedding. Not just any sausages and mash: the one and only ‘Orde van de Stoemp’ will show you how. These guys really take their mash seriously!
  • Radio 2 is in charge of the music all afternoon. And as in previous years, they'll be broadcasting De Vlaamse 100 Live. Be sure not to miss your favourite Flemish artist performing live.
  • From the ‘Huckle Buck’ to ‘In Zaire’ … Dust off the classics and your dancing shoes and get down and dance. The dance floor is on the Place de la Bourse.

19:00 | De Brussel Trouwt Trouwtraktatie

No wedding is complete without a toast. In honour of ‘Vlaanderen Feest, Brussel Danst’, everyone on the Grand Place is offered a glass. Raise your glass and toast to Flanders Day, to Brussels, to love, to the fresh couples and to the start of an unforgettable wedding. A typical wedding DJ will get you in the mood.

19:30 | De Grote Brussel Trouwt Trouwshow

Everything that makes a wedding so great, but stretched out to epic proportions. Because let's face it, wedding parties are the best parties. With sketches and surprise acts, tipsy speeches, fun contests, the first dance, doves, fireworks and lots of love.

Concept: CirQ

21:30 | De Kreuners

De Kreuners will put the icing on the (wedding) cake. With a never-ending supply of hits, these Flemish rockers will bring the Grand Place down.

21:30 | De Brussel Trouwt Trouwfuif

For those who just can't stop dancing or want to sing the night away to terribly catchy karaoke tunes, there's always the Beursschouwburg. Think of ‘Les Lacs du Connemara’, ‘Summer of ’69’ and other classically cliché wedding songs.

Share your love with peers and win over the few remaining sceptics on Facebook.
